Year 6 Kingswood Residential Wednesday 13th -Friday 15th June

Our Year 6 children arrived back safely on Friday afternoon. They enjoyed an exciting  two nights away with their teachers in Ashford.

Medway Primary Tri Golf Festival – Year 1 & 2- Thursday 14th June

We are extremely proud of our Infant team who won the Festival. Tri Golf is a new game to the children but they have been practising over the past weeks and it certainly paid off. Mrs Dyne and Mrs Oliver took the team to Greenacre today where the children played against other primary schools in Medway. Well done everyone on a great performance.

Omnipark Dental Surgery Visit – Year 3 – Wednesday 13th June

As part of our science curriculum and to mark ‘National Smile Week’ the children have been learning about the importance of good oral health. The children visited Omnipark Dental Surgery where they received some top tips on how to look after their teeth.  KMTV were there and some of the children appeared on KMTV Tonight the same evening. We are extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Babayemi, Former Bryony School parents for offering our children this opportunity.


Otterden Estate & Gunpowder Mills Park – Tuesday 12th June

Year 3 & 4 had a fantastic day out on Tuesday. After measuring trees in Otterden during a woodland session and looking for mini beasts the group went to Gunpowder Mills Park where they saw how trees are used to make gunpowder. 


FoBS Summer Fete – Sunday 10th June

The Friends of Bryony School chose a circus theme for this years Summer Fete. Mrs Jarvis would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s summer fête a success! From those who helped set up, to those who helped clear up, to those who manned stalls, made donations and to those who attended! We made a profit of £1055 this year which couldn’t have been done without everyone’s hard work!

Wingham Wildlife Park – Year 1 – Tuesday 22nd May

The children of Year 1 enjoyed a sunny day at Wingham Wildlife Park. They held a snake, stroked a bearded dragon and saw the skin of a Tarantula…The visit complimented their topic on animals which they have been learning about this term.



Christmas Jumper Day – Friday 15th December

This year in the Infant Department we made our own Christmas tops. The children had great fun decorating them. The Junior Department held a talent competition as well as party games. The whole school wore Christmas jumpers raising £204.70 for Save the Children.

Well done to Mrs Atkins and the basketball team. A very creditable 10th place out of 38 schools at the Mini Youth Games.

MYG Hockey-Holcombe Hockey Club – Thursday 19th October

On the last day of term, Our Year 6 Hockey team enjoyed playing against other Medway Schools during the Mini Youth Games.

Pre-School & Reception Parents’ Open Afternoon – Tuesday 17th October

Parents came to the infant site to look at their children’s work and their learning environment. The children enjoyed showing their mums, dads and grandparents what they have been learning about this term.

Cross Country Competition – Fort Pitt Grammar School – Infants & Juniors – Saturday 14th October

Bryony had some great results during the morning. We took second place overall out of the five schools that took part. Well done Bryony.

Harvest Festival – Infants and Juniors – Monday & Wednesday

Another very successful Harvest festival this year. Mr Johnson performed two great assemblies. We delivered a very generous amount of donated food to local elderly residents.

Tag 7s Rugby Competition at Fort Pitt Grammar School – Saturday 30th September

Year 3&4 team won both their games convincingly. Great team effort in the first competition of the new school year. Very well done to everyone who took part.

Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning/Cake Sale – September

FoBS organised this event in aid of a very worthwhile charity. Parents and children made and, very generously, donated a great number of cakes. The proceeds raised  £362.32

Pre-school Trip to Riverside Country Park – September

The children from our Pre-school had a fun and exciting day trip to Riverside Country Park.

Medway and Kent 11 plus tests 2017 – September

Well done to all our Year 6 who sat the Medway and Kent 11 Plus tests. All the children and staff have enjoyed a well deserved jam donut from Mrs Edmunds which is one of our most popular traditions!
