We are delighted that you are considering Bryony School for your son or daughter. The information below provides a brief guide to our admissions procedures. If you would like to read our admissions policy in full, please click here.
Age of Entry
Children can join Bryony from the age of two and a half. Subject to availability, children can join Bryony School in any year group and at any time of the school year.
Registering your child
Places are given to children on a first come, first served basis and we will only register your child if there is a place available in the appropriate year group. We will give you a registration form following your visit to the school and this must be returned with a non-refundable registration fee of £60 to secure the place. Subject to availability, an immediate start at Bryony School is possible. We do not require a deposit to secure your place with us.
We operate waiting lists for classes which are full. As a place becomes available, it is offered to the child at the top of the waiting list.
Policy for siblings
Bryony is a family school and priority for places is given to siblings. In a situation where the school has a place for one child in a family, any other children in that family will be placed at the top of the waiting list for classes that are currently full. (Please remember however to register siblings as soon as possible if you wish them to join the school).
There is no entry exam to our school. We aim to provide all children with the opportunities to reach their potential. We do not discriminate on the grounds of gender, race or religion. Children with Special Educational Needs, including the gifted and talented are welcome at Bryony School.
We maintain our excellent results through giving every child the opportunity to reach their potential whatever this may be and exceed the standards for their age group. We assess the children’s abilities in Mathematics and English in the first week of joining us. This helps provide an indication of whether extra help is required. At the point of application, and thereafter we require full disclosure of any learning support assessment or identified need, medical condition or disability, which could require specialist treatment, support or equipment, and any behavioural or disciplinary issues known to parents. This information is also essential to assist us in insuring that we are the most appropriate setting for your child.
Our school prospectus has more information about the school and includes details of fees. To request a prospectus, please click here.
Visit the school
We actively encourage you to visit us to see the breadth of our activities and experience our special atmosphere first hand. Please contact us to arrange a convenient time for a personal tour with Mrs Edmunds, the School Principal. Taster sessions are available so that your child can meet their prospective teacher and new friends.
Starting at Bryony
Towards the end of the term before your child is due to start, we will contact you to arrange a convenient day, (or session in the case of Pre-school), for your child to spend time with the class they will be joining.
On joining Bryony School new parents/carers will receive a welcome pack which includes:
